About Us

Saving Strays Animal Rescue is a local animal charity based in Bolton. We care for and re-home unwanted cats, dogs, horses, rabbits and would never allow a healthy animal to be put down.

Many of our animals have not had the best start in life and are in need of support from their new families. To ensure they get this it is our policy to carry out home checks on all potential new homes prior to adoption. In this way we hope to provide the most suitable homes for our animals and give them the best possible chance of finding their new forever families.

Saving Strays Animal Rescue is staffed by a small team of volunteers, without whom we could not operate. If you would like to get involved with Saving Strays Animal Rescue and our work, why not make a donation, volunteer or foster. Any help you can offer will always be greatly appreciated by all of us here at Saving Strays Animal Rescue and of course by all of the animals in our care!

What we do?

We ensure that every animal is neutered, vaccinated, has flea and worm treatment, and is microchipped, along with any other medical needs that animal has.

All vet history is recorded at our chosen vets and will be passed onto the new owner upon adoption.

How do we do it?

We have a set adoption fee for cats and dogs that covers not only that animal’s care but goes towards the care of all our animals in rescue.

When you adopt from Saving Strays Animal Rescue we provide you with an Adoption Contract and all the vet history needed for your new pet.

Partner & friends

We are a part of the Home Checkers Network which now allows us to rehome all over the UK.

For every adoption there will be a thorough home check arranged to ensure that you and your new family member are right for each other!

Join us! Adopt! Donate!

If you would like to get involved and volunteer, please get in touch with us. Whether that’s by being a foster home, a transporter, a home checker, or admin assistant we need you!

If you would like to adopt, have a look at the adoptions page for all of the animals ready for new homes. If you are able to donate that’s fantastic please have a look at the ways you can help page.

Corporate Charity Partnerships: How Your Business Can Support Saving Strays Animal Rescue

At Saving Strays Animal Rescue, our mission is to help animals in need and give them the opportunity to find safer, happier futures. Achieving this takes time, resources and the support of people who care about animal welfare.

That’s where local businesses and corporate partners can make a real difference.

By partnering with Saving Strays Animal Rescue, your business can support a meaningful cause, bring your team together and make a positive contribution to animal welfare in the local community.

Whether you’re a small independent business or a larger organisation, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Why Partner with Saving Strays Animal Rescue?

Corporate charity partnerships offer businesses an opportunity to give back while supporting a cause that makes a genuine difference.

Working with Saving Strays can help your business:

  • Make a positive impact: Help support animals who need care, protection and a second chance.
  • Engage your employees: Give your team opportunities to fundraise and work together towards a shared goal.
  • Support your local community: Demonstrate your commitment to animal welfare and making a difference locally.

  • Strengthen your social responsibility: Build charitable giving and community involvement into your business values.

Every contribution matters, and together we can help create better outcomes for animals in need.

How Can Your Business Get Involved?

We understand that every business is different. That’s why there are several ways your organisation can support Saving Strays Animal Rescue.

1. Make Saving Strays Your Charity of the Year

Choosing Saving Strays as your Charity of the Year is a fantastic way to support our work throughout the year.

Your business could organise fundraising activities, encourage employee donations or dedicate selected company events to raising money for animals in need.

A year-long partnership also gives your team something meaningful to work towards together.

2. Organise Workplace Fundraising

Fundraising is a great way to bring colleagues together while supporting a worthwhile cause.

Your workplace could organise a sponsored challenge, a bake sale, a dress-down day, a quiz night or another activity that gets your team involved.

Even small fundraising activities can contribute towards the ongoing work of an animal rescue charity.

3. Arrange Workplace Donation Drives

Businesses can help by organising collections of much-needed items for animals in our care.

A workplace donation drive gives employees an easy, practical way to contribute. Your team could collect suitable pet supplies or other items requested by Saving Strays, helping us access resources that support our rescue work.

We can discuss the items most useful to us when arranging a donation drive.

4. Support Us Through Corporate Sponsorship

Corporate sponsorship can help support our fundraising events and other activities.

Businesses may choose to sponsor an event, contribute towards fundraising initiatives or provide financial support to help us continue our work.

In return, we can discuss appropriate ways to recognise your support and share your involvement with our community.

5. Introduce Payroll Giving and Match Funding

If your business offers payroll giving, employees may be able to make regular charitable donations directly from their salary.

Another option is match funding, where an employer matches some or all of the money raised by employees through an eligible fundraising activity.

These approaches can help your team's generosity go even further and provide another way for your business to support animal welfare.

A Partnership That Makes a Difference

Corporate partnerships are about more than donations. They’re about bringing people together around a shared goal and creating opportunities to make a lasting difference.

Whether your business can organise a fundraiser, provide supplies, sponsor an event or support us throughout the year, your involvement can help strengthen our work and the community around us.

We welcome conversations with businesses interested in supporting Saving Strays Animal Rescue and finding an approach that works for their organisation.
